Bradyn Swinson picked up an interesting habit from one of the NFL's rising stars.

During his time at LSU, the talented edge noticed that former Tigers quarterback and current Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels always carried around a football.

To him, that emphasized always carrying your dream with you, which was to make it to the NFL.

So, Swinson started to do that exact same thing.

"Yes, I do," he told reporters when asked if that story is true. "It's actually upstairs right now."

"You always want to carry your dream everywhere. I started doing it my last year at LSU, carrying it around with me everywhere," he added. "When I go to the grocery store and I go to the mall, go anywhere, I have a ball with me. Keeping the ball close. I just believe the ball is the program."

However, when he was drafted, Swinson didn't have that football on him for one very specific reason.

"But I can't walk around with it anymore, it’s a Washington Commanders ball," he stated. "I need a Patriots ball."

And when he's seen at the grocery store or anywhere else, he always gets some funny reactions.

"Oh, yeah. I always get some type of reaction. They always look at me like I'm crazy. Like, ‘Okay, yeah, you must be obsessed or something,’ he said with a smile. "They'll be like, ‘Is that your child or something?’ I just always have it. Bring it to the pool. Bring it anywhere."

Last season, Swinson led LSU in sacks with 8.5, in pressures with 59, and in tackles for loss with 13. He contributes some of his success to carrying the ball with him at all times.

"When I started doing that, got to game days, everything started getting surreal," he explained. "When you start punching the ball out of you, you’re used to seeing the ball. When you holding the ball so much, you get to know the different spots on the ball."

Swinson's dream came true when he was drafted, ultimately making it to the NFL. But there's still so much more for him to achieve, so will this tradition continue?

It sure seems that way.
