On defense, the New Orleans Saints have been searching for pass rush help during this offseason. They drafted IDL Bryan Bresee in this year's first round, then they followed up by drafting Isaiah Foskey in the second round. The departure of Marcus Davenport leaves a hole at edge on the depth chart, but his production is replaceable.
Is it possible that one rushing linebacker could step up to be a young, impactful defender for the Saints?
Linebacker D'Marco Jackson may fit that bill. He's impressing folks so far at OTAs, and New Orleans was excited about him last offseason before he got injured.
Jackson is a physically gifted LB that was always a playmaker during his time at Appalachian State. The Saints could use a step-up campaign from him after losing Kaden Elliss in free agency. Elliss recorded seven sacks from the LB position last year.
Saints fans should be excited about Jackson's potential if given the opportunity this season.
