It's no secret that the New Orleans Saints have a massive decision to make this off-season.

They have to decide if they are going to trade former head coach Sean Payton.

As of right now, it seems unlikely that his return to coaching will be for the Saints. It sounds like he will be the head coach of a different team sooner rather than later. Payton is interested in making his return to the sidelines, and it could happen it 2023.

Therefore, the Saints will need to trade him. But what could they get for their former big-name offensive guru?

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that the Saints want a first-round pick in return for Payton.

They could get multiple draft selections, but they want at least one first rounder. It makes sense, too.

Payton is one of the most well-respected offensive minds in the entire NFL. His work with Drew Brees and company for nearly two decades cemented himself as a special head coach.

There will be a handful of suitors for Payton as well.

We already know that the Denver Broncos may make a play for him. The Carolina Panthers, Indianapolis Colts, and Broncos are already in the market. The Arizona Cardinals and Houston Texans could join them soon.

Other openings could occur, but only time will tell.

For Payton, it is likely that he will want to go somewhere with a proven quarterback or the flexibility to bring his own QB into the team.

Regardless, the price for the Saints is somewhat known now. We will see if somebody moves a first-round pick for Payton in the coming months.
