This loss by the New Orleans Saints hits a little different than the other three from this season. This one was in the bag. I mean, it was literally the Saints' game to lose. And boom, just like that, the Cincinnati Bengals force some errors and capitalize off of them.
This one also hurts a little more because of the circumstances the team was in. This team had a boatload of starts out for the game, including all three of their starting wide receivers in Michael Thomas, Jarvis Landry, and rookie Chris Olave. Yet, it still looked like they would win the game.
We were just getting ready to start the conversation about the Saints being a great team when healthy. Then, bang, they shoot themselves in the foot, again.
Saints fans on Twitter are livid about the game. Not only did they lose, and the fashion they lost, but they lost to Joe Burrow and Ja'Marr Chase, two guys who won a national championship for LSU.
Then, you add in the things that the Saints had right in front of them to win the game. Also on Twitter, someone broke down the film and showed that the Saints had a chance to get back in the game.
When you see this it's probably very frustrating, especially for Saints fans. They are used to having Drew Brees, one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time, and he would have made this play, easily.
And, this isn't the first time something like that happened, as it did against the Carolina Panthers as well with Jameis Winston.
