The New Orleans Saints sent shockwaves through their fanbase during this past off-season.

They traded one of their best, young defenders in Chauncey Gardner-Johnson. The Philadelphia Eagles dealt for him at a pretty low price. Folks were confused by the move, but disagreements and tension between the defensive back and coaches forced them to make a move.

Both sides simply did not see things the same way.

The front office also wasn't prepared to give Gardner-Johnson the type of contract that he wanted. He wanted out, so the Saints granted his wish.

Now, the Eagles face the Saints this weekend in an important matchup for both teams.

The Saints are fighting to stay alive in the playoff hunt, while the Eagles attempt to lock down the top seed in the NFC.

Gardner-Johnson is currently injured, but he could return this week against the Saints.

He's already making comments on social media about the matchup against his former team.

Gardner-Johnson is one of the best characters in the NFL.

If you didn't think he would have some comments before, during, and after this game, then you don't know him. The feisty defensive back is known for gettin under his opponents' skin and using that to his advantage.

Gardner-Johnson has been productive for the Eagles this year. He has six interceptions. That's more than his three-year total with the Saints.

It will be interesting to see if CGJ can get back on the field this week. Seems like he has some added motivation to try to make a difference against his former team.
