The New Orleans Saints have had their fair share of special running backs in their franchise's history. Darren Sproles, Reggie Bush, Mark Ingram, and Alvin Kamara probably top that list. Two of those players are now contending for a job off of the field.

Bush has held a spot on Fox Sports’ Big Noon Kickoff as an analyst, but the two sides currently have a dispute over his future with the company. It stems from contract negotiations, according to Andrew Marchand of the New York Post. Fellow former Saints running back Mark Ingram is considering retiring from the NFL and grabbing that spot with Fox, according to reports.

Ingram has always been a bubbly personality and football lover, so this should come as no surprise to anyone. If he does retire, Ingram would have played 13 seasons in the NFL in which he gained more than 8,000 yards. Ingram is 33 years old.

Fox Sports has talked to Ingram previously about a job on television. Clearly, they like his analysis and knowledge. Ingram decided to continue his NFL career with the Saints, though.

For the Saints, it would be pretty interesting for them and their fans. They'd be happy for Ingram, but they would also hope that Bush catches on to another gig very soon. Ingram was a fan favorite for most of his tenure with New Orleans – as was Bush. Both share the fact that they had dominant, special college careers for NCAA powerhouses, too.
