The New Orleans Saints (0-2) will face off with the Seattle Seahawks (1-1) in Week 3 of the NFL season. Seattle is fresh off a win over the Pittsburgh Steelers. Meanwhile, New Orleans came up just short on another comeback victory versus San Francisco last weekend.

It has been a rollercoaster experience for the Saints to open the season. The Seahawks have felt a bit of that as well. After a Week 1 defeat, they bounced back to beat a talented Steelers team last week. New Orleans’ home field advantage was limited in Week 2, so the Seahawks will hope that their contingency helps them out more in their own stadium against the Saints.

Game headlines for Saints-Seahawks

Third down defense: New Orleans was, yet again, not effective in getting an offense off the field on third down in Week 2. The 49ers converted on 8/15 third downs against the Saints defense. The Cardinals were near that rate in Week 1 also.

More consistency from pass catchers: Drops were a problem in the first half for New Orleans against SF. They need more from Chris Olave early in matchups, and Rashid Shaheed has to see the field a bit more with designed touches.

Injuries to watch: Chase Young could return in Week 3. The pass rush needs him back because Carl Granderson was the only major contributor last week along the DL. Trevor Penning could be back on the field as well. Keep an eye on injury reports this week for the Saints.

Kellen Moore is still looking to get his first victory as a head coach in the NFL. New Orleans improve overall in Week 2, but it wants enough against a banged-up 49ers quad. Now, they face another tall task in Seattle. Make sure to tune in to see if the black and gold can get back on track on the road against an NFC foe.
