The New Orleans Saints made a head-coaching change in the middle of this past season. Dennis Allen was relieved of his duties. With that, the search began this offseason for his replacement.

The Saints are reportedly hiring Philadelphia Eagles offensive coordinator Kellen Moore as their next head coach. It's been a long process, but Moore has been the favorite for some time. New Orleans just had to wait until after the Super Bowl, where Moore's team became victorious last weekend.

One intriguing piece of the pie is a bit of "home cooking" for the Saints, regarding Allen and Moore's performances at the Caesars Superdome this past season.

Superdome Success

Kellen Moore owns a statistic many fans won't believe. During this past season, including the postseason, the new Saints head coach actually had more wins in New Orleans than the prior head coach for them in Dennis Allen.

With Kellen Moore's Super Bowl win in the Superdome for the Eagles, he won two games on the Saints' home field this year.

Dennis Allen won just one before getting fired in early November.

While Allen did not finish the season with the Saints, this is still a shocking stat to consider. The Eagles beat the Saints in Week 3 by a field goal, with Allen still the HC in New Orleans. That was a home game for the black and gold.

Then, Moore's Eagles upset the back-to-back Super Bowl winning Kansas City Chiefs in New Orleans to lift the Lombardi.

The Saints are hoping that Moore can bring some of that success in the Superdome to their team in the coming years. Moore will become the youngest head coach in the NFL (36 years old) once he's officially hired.
