The New Orleans Saints are rounding out their search for a new head coach.

Philadelphia Eagles offensive coordinator Kellen Moore has been a hot name in recent days, following Aaron Glenn heading to the New York Jets and Mike McCarthy exiting the search.

Kellen Moore update

According to Tom Pelissero, the Saints plan to meet with Eagles OC Kellen Moore again after the Super Bowl. They had an in-person interview with him earlier this week.

With this decision by the Saints, other candidates may begin to look elsewhere. If there wasn't serious interest between Moore and the Saints, another meeting would not already be set up.

If Philly was not playing in the Super Bowl, it feels as though this hire would have already been made by New Orleans.

New Orleans cannot talk to Moore again prior to the Super Bowl. They'll have to wait till after the game concludes.

#Saints GM Mickey Loomis informed other candidates this morning that, while there has been no final decision, he plans to continue discussions with Kellen Moore. Moore has been working on staff; he can’t be officially hired until after the Super Bowl and another meeting awaits. — Tom Pelissero

Moore has emerged as the favorite this week, and this latest report only adds fuel to that fire. It seems like the young offensive mind will get his first head-coaching opportunity in the NFL.
