National media actually gets it right about the Saints

The New Orleans Saints must have a bounce back season in 2023. 2022 was plagued with bad decisions, instability, and injuries. Now, they really lack excuses after adding a proven quarterback in Derek Carr as well as young talent on defense. The roster is capable of winning the NFC South. Now, they have to prove it, and Dennis Allen's job relies on exactly that.
The pressure is on the Saints' staff. Bleacher Report’s Brent Sobleski names the Saints as one of the teams that can’t afford to miss the playoffs.
Carr was their guy. He signed with the team prior to the start of the new league year. The NFC South is also a down division, with no clear top quarterback after Tom Brady’s retirement… Failure to make a run to the postseason and possibly even capture a division title with the likes of Cameron Jordan, Demario Davis and Tyrann Mathieu on the roster should be considered unacceptable.
Sobleski is correct, too. New Orleans joins the Browns, Commanders, Jets, and Broncos on the list.
The Saints' division is arguably the weakest in the NFL, and the Saints have the easiest schedule in the entire league. Everything is set up for them to succeed, but Dennis Allen's teams have never proven to take advantage. He felt heat after the team missed the postseason this past season, and he won't be able to keep his HC job if that occurs again.
Pressure mounts in New Orleans. They must perform in 2023.
