It is officially rumor season around the NFL as the trade deadline approaches.
For the Saints, that means that star running back Alvin Kamara was a part of plenty of rumors this past week. The Philadelphia Eagles seemed to be at the forefront of those social media discussions.
Seemingly, those rumors have been put to rest now.
It would not be surprising if these were simply just a couple small outlets on Twitter starting nonsense.
There weren't any reputable reports about the Eagles regarding Kamara. That's normally how the days before the deadline go, though. Big names swirl up, but nothing comes of it.
As for the Saints, this shouldn't be a shocker.
Kamara's contract would very expensive for the team to trade away. The return probably would not be worth the financial hit.
Additionally, the price would probably still be quite high for one of the NFL's top running backs. The Saints know how valuable he is to an offense trying to contend for a Super Bowl.
Not to mention, trading away their best offensive player wouldn't be a great look for the Saints right now.
They still have a chance at the division title due to the NFC South's struggles as a whole. It probably wouldn't send a great message to Saints' fans.
Luckily, it doesn't seem like it is on the table.
