The New Orleans Saints have made a ton of moves along their defensive line during this off-season. They had a challenge of replacing most of their depth on the interior as well as Marcus Davenport off the edge. They are adding another defensive lineman now, too.
The Saints are signing Jack Heflin, a former Packers and Giants defensive lineman. Heflin just finished a season in the XFL with the Houston Roughnecks.
Heflin projects to play inside at 3-tech for New Orleans if he makes the roster. He is a gritty lineman that plays with plenty of effort. During his draft cycle, an NFC scout said that he loved his motor and temperament.
Heflin was one of the most disruptive interior defenders during his time in the XFL.
The former NFL DL made the All-XFL team for 2023. Clearly, he impressed the Saints. They hope that he can be another impactful piece for their defense this season.
