Tyler Warren is a prospect that is particularly polarizing in this year's 2025 NFL Draft. The Penn State tight end is on the New Orleans Saints' radar. They are also on his – it seems.

Warren did not participate in the NFL Scouting Combine. He also didn't work out at any sort of Penn State Pro Day. The former Nittany Lions playmaker will instead have a private tryout this month, and New Orleans wants to get eyes on him.

Saints will see Tyler Warren privately

Per Tony Pauline of Sportskeeda, the New Orleans Saints are among what has turned into an exclusive list of teams to join in on Warren’s private workout ahead of the NFL Draft.

“The New York Jets, Chicago Bears, and Indianapolis Colts were three of the teams named. Since then, I’ve been told the New Orleans Saints and both (Los Angeles) teams have seemingly joined the mix.” — Pauline

If this is the case, the Saints certainly will consider him at nine if he's available. There is no chance Warren makes it anywhere close to their second-round election at 40th overall.

Many analysts think he will be the first TE off the board and one of two in round one, along with Colston Loveland from Michigan.

Does taking a TE at ninth overall make sense?

The Saints re-signed Juwan Johnson to a three-year extension during free agency. It was a bit of a surprising move, but Kellen Moore wanted to keep the team's tight end in the fold for at least a couple more seasons.

Taking a tight end in the top ten would be a tad bit odd, considering that deal. That being said, in the NFL Draft, teams go with their gut on talent a lot of the time. If Kellen Moore thinks Warren can be a chess piece for their offense, it won't shock me. He's loved to employ a player with a similar skillset in recent seasons elsewhere.
