Quarterback discussions continue for the entire first round of the 2025 NFL Draft. Cam Ward seems like the only "sure thing" when it comes to his expected landing spot in round one. For the New Orleans Saints, they're keeping a close eye on this QB class.

Saints' interest in Jalen Milroe

The Saints hosted a private workout for Alabama quarterback Jalen Milroe, according to Jordan Schultz. Clearly, there's some interest from the team there.

Sources: Alabama QB Jalen Milroe had private workouts with the #Saints and #Browns that were described as “impressive.” He also met with key members of the #Jets offensive staff and the #Steelers — prior to his Pro Day last month. — Jordan Schultz

Milroe is a project-type of QB prospect. His athletics traits are unbelievable. He's really gifted in that department and showed off a great deep ball at times in his final year with the Crimson Tide.

That being said, he has a long way to go when it comes to progressions and adjustments, especially entering the pros. His short to intermediate accuracy needs notable development, too. Regardless, the Saints have him on their radar.

Pro Comp: Jalen Hurts with shades of Bo NixA natural runner with an explosive skill set, the devil will be in the details for Milroe. He can sometimes turtle and become a check-down merchant when he's not confident in his accuracy and leverage reads, but there's room in the NFL for that to be functional. He's worth an investment and risk but will need a patient coaching staff. — Ian Valentino

Jaxson Dart and Shedeur Sanders

ESPN draft analyst Jordan Reid discussed New Orleans' intrigue in the rookie quarterback class, too.

Reid pointed to Dart's downfield ball placement and consistency as reasons that teams have him in mind. He mentioned New Orleans as a potential landing spot for the Ole Miss quarterback at ninth overall.

Milroe was the other quarterback he mentioned that has been repeatedly talked about when it comes to the Saints.

In case you missed it, the Saints are also the current betting favorites to draft Colorado QB Shedeur Sanders, via FanDuel. Deion Sanders, his father, mentioned the Saints as an option for who he may get picked by in this year's draft.

It's rumor season around the NFL, and the Saints are locked into the thick of it when it comes to the rookie QB conversation.
