The New Orleans Saints offense has been a rough rollercoaster this season. In Week 6, they struggled mightily, scoring just 13 points.
Their red zone issues are clear. Simply put, they must be better, including QB Derek Carr. That being said, the NFL gave Carr some recognition for his lackluster performance in Week 6. He was named a candidate for the 'FedEx Air Player of the Week' by NFL social media.
The other two options both played better than Carr, and their teams won their games.
Jared Goff's Detroit Lions beat the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and Tua Tagovailoa's Miami Dolphins defeated the Carolina Panthers.
Carr was frustrated during and after the game with his performance. Accordingly, his selection is fairly surprising. He put up a lot of yardage, but the actual scoring production did not match up for New Orleans.
As of Tuesday afternoon, Goff is in the lead to get the honor for the week. Carr is in last place of the three, and that should surprise nobody.
