The trade deadline came and went quietly for the New Orleans Saints.

Internally, they knew that they weren't going to be too active. The Saints were not really in a position to be major buyers or sellers right now.

That didn't stop rumors of Alvin Kamara being shopped on social media last week.

Buffalo Bills' general manager Brandon Beane put those rumors to rest regarding a Kamara trade to the Bills. They did not discuss a deal with the Saints for their star running back.

This backs up what notable sources said about the Saints and Kamara prior to the deadline.  They were not shopping their best offensive player.

Trading him would have been a bad decision from a roster standpoint as well as a financial standpoint. It would've costed them more money to move Kamara than to keep him.

Additionally, it was clear that Kamara wanted to stay with the Saints.

He made that pretty clear in his post game comments after Sunday's win.

Beane says that they did reach out to the Carolina Panthers about Christian McCaffrey. Instead, the 49ers traded for the former Panthers' running back.

The Bills would have made plenty sense for Kamara, but the Saints made the right choice to keep him in the building.

That never stops ridiculous rumors from spreading in the week before the trade deadline.
