What is a successful season for the 2024 New Orleans Saints? I specifically broke that down earlier in the offseason. Check that out here.

New Orleans is trying to bounce back from multiple seasons without a playoff appearance. There's plenty of pressure on the staff. One of the top analytical football minds thinks that they can play postseason football this year, though.

Aaron Schatz and his analytics are believers in the Saints in 2024. Schatz is the Chief Analytics Officer for FTN Fantasy. He is also the creator of the DVOA statistic and votes on the NFL MVP. Schatz recently released his NFL almanac for 2024 projections.

The Saints have 63% postseason odds

Schatz relayed his honest thoughts about what the Saints will be in the upcoming NFL season. They aren't anything particularly special, but they can get the job done in getting to the playoffs after some recent disappointments.

Their analytics project the Saints to get 9.7 wins.

Of course, they cannot technically do that. That bring said, it's quite close to ten wins. Double-digit victories would get them back to the postseason, unless something ridiculous occurs around the NFC. Not to mention, ten wins probably wins the NFC South, too.

Someone found our most controversial take from this year's book! Synonyms for "mediocre" include ordinary, common, average, and middling. But they do not include "bad." Combine that mediocrity with an easy schedule, and… — Schatz

The rest of NFL media is seemingly lower than these projections regarding New Orleans. They see them as the third-best team in their division, floating between six and eight wins.

It's notable to know that Schatz thinks that the Saints will outplay their expectations. We will see if he is correct by the end of the 2024 season.
