Saints, white

Not many people remember the big storyline from the 2015 NL draft. Some of you do, sure, but it was brought back up on Thursday Night Football in a game where the New Orleans Saints lost to the Arizona Cardinals.

And while, yes, for Saints fans that game was a roller coaster, there are still a ton of things to take away from the game. One of the most important things that caught my eye, is how well the Saints' receivers did, especially considering they were missing two of their starts at the position in Jarvis Landry and Michael Thomas.

Instead, they have Rashid Shaheed and Kevin White out there making plays with very few touches.

We know about the Shaheed hype, and how he has now scored a rushing touchdown longer than 30 yards, and a receiving touchdown of 30 yards, but only had two touches in the game. Yes, those two plays were the only touches, which should blow your mind.

But the other guy is Kevin White, and you may have heard of him. He was once in the league but recently made his comeback. Now, he is proving that he at least deserves a permanent practice squad spot.

The story starts in 2015 when White was drafted by the Chicago Bears in 2015 as the seventh overall pick in the draft. A lot of people thought that was a reach, but everyone knew White was a first-round talent.

White was drafted out of West Virginia, where he finished his sophomore season with 109 catches, 10 touchdowns, and nearly 1,500 receiving yards.

Long story short, due to injuries and not a ton of opportunities around the league, White became known as one of the biggest busts ever.

On Thursday for the Saints, he showed that he can still hang in the league. He was only targeted once and didn't play many snaps, but when he did, it was explosive.

You've all probably seen the play by now, but on his first catch, White nearly took it all the way home, as he went 64 yards.

Now, I'm definitely not saying he needs to be on the 53-man roster the rest of the year, even though it may b smart with all of the injuries they are suffering, but I am saying he showed why he was picked so high. He still has that and the Saints can use it.
