The New Orleans Saints have signed all but one of the players in their 2023 rookie class. That lone player is 40th overall selection Isaiah Foskey. Don't fret, though. This isn't out of the norm for NFL teams and their second-round picks.
Guarantees are normally the hold-up on these deals, and much of the time they get done last of any rookie deals. That's the case for many second-round picks from the 2023 class, including the Saints' pick. That being said, there's been movement in the negotiating around the NFL for this year's second-rounders. The Seattle Seahawks just signed the 37th overall pick, Derick Hall, to his rookie contract two days ago.
For the Saints, this gives them a strong precedent for a deal with Foskey. He and his agent will assuredly look for similar guarantees to what Hall got in his deal.
Regardless, the sides will get a deal done. Foskey hopes to be an important edge rush presence for the Saints this season and beyond. They need that from him on defense, too.
