The rivalry between the New Orleans Saints and Tampa Bay Buccaneers is reaching past the gridiron. According to reports, there is a bit of a legal situation between the two NFC South teams now. It is a trademark dispute between the two teams regarding the term 'KREWE'.
The Bucs use the term for multiple aspects of their franchise, including loyalty club memberships, clothing, trading cards, among other things.
The Saints only use the term in the phrase for their cheerleading team. They are coined the Saints Cheer Krewe. Tampa Bay believes that they have priority on the word, so the Saints should not have access to it as well.
It is a case that may not come to a decisive agreement either way. There's a possibility that the two organizations could come to a conclusion for the term outside of court.
