Zion Williamson is one of the most well-known New Orleans athletes at this point. He may not play for the New Orleans Saints, but they had a connection today. No, the Saints won't be signing him to play on their defense. Instead, it is an intriguing meeting between Williamson and a New Orleans Pelicans executive.
According to Nick Underhill, Williamson and Pelicans Vice President David Griffin are meeting at Saints headquarters today.
According to Underhill and others, the meeting was not about Williamson's future with the team. Shams Charania reports that the team is making a staff move. That could have been the main point of the meeting with the Pelicans young playmaker.
The Pelicans are parting ways with assistant coach Teresa Weatherspoon. Weatherspoon has had a strong relationship with Williamson and helped his development in New Orleans.
