Kelvin Banks Jr. is the newest New Orleans Saints rookie. He's the latest piece to their 2025 NFL Draft class, as the ninth overall selection. On day two, they've got plenty of needs to address.
With that in mind, I tried to create a realistic mock draft scenario for their picks on day two, between rounds two and three. Check it out below.
Saints 2025 NFL Draft Day 2 Mock
Round 2, Pick 40: Shavon Revel Jr., CB, East Carolina
New Orleans' secondary needs another potential starter at cornerback. If Revel makes it here, it would be a home run selection to improve Brandon Staley's talent on defense.
Revel dealt with an injury in his final college season, but his physical traits and coverage skills were first-round pick worthy. This would be a really smart pick by New Orleans.
Round 3, Pick 71: Will Howard, QB, Ohio State
New Orleans passes on QB in round two but makes that move later on day two. Howard has a ton of moxy, improved over the latter half of his final college year, and is highly-regarded by the Buckeyes' coaching staff.
The Saints currently do not know who their starter will be in 2025. Howard applies pressure for Spencer Rattler, and possibly Derek Carr – if they somehow find a way to get him back on the field healthy. If he doesn't, their need for another young QB option is even more necessary.
Round 3, Pick 93: Tory Horton, WR, Colorado State
Horton is a taller option in this year's class for later on day two. At 6'2 and a hair under 200 pounds, the Colorado State product has prototypical size to be able to play outside at the NFL level.
He is an impressive route runner who consistently produced at a high level in CFB when healthy. Horton plays the position with a key knowledge of coverage and uses his notable preparation to his advantage. New Orleans lacks size in their WR room, and Horton would be a great value to help with that problem for Kellen Moore.
Drafting Kelvin Banks Jr. proves that New Orleans Saints HC Kellen Moore hasn’t been lying to fans recently
The New Orleans Saints have made their pick at the ninth overall selection in the 2025 NFL draft. Texas Longhorns offensive tackle Kelvin Banks Jr. is headed to Kellen Moore's offense. Kelvin Banks Jr. pick supports Kellen Moore's philosophy Kellen Moore has recently discussed how a roster must be constructed in a "position-less" way quite […]
