The New Orleans Saints have added some intriguing pieces to their roster over the past week. They've also brought back a few well-known names from seasons prior.

Now, they must look ahead to complete their roster through the final stages of free agency and the 2025 NFL Draft. Addressing some final needs through the late stages of FA makes a ton of sense for a team who has created a notable amount of cap space over the past few weeks.

4 free agents who could still help the Saints

Keenan Allen, Wide Receiver

The Saints' wide receiver room continues to lack depth. They recently lost Marquez Valdes-Scantling, too. Accordingly, adding a bigger wideout makes a lot of sense for them either in this stage of free agency and/or the draft.

Allen got in a groove over the latter half of last season for the Bears and totaled 744 receiving yards and seven touchdowns in 2024.

Will Hernandez, Interior Offensive Lineman

New Orleans still does not have a safe option for their starting left guard spot on the roster. Lucas Patrick is a free agent. They missed out on Mekhi Becton, but New Orleans did recently bring back guard Landon Young on a one-year deal.

Regardless, Hernandez was a great pass blocking interior lineman a season ago, and that was a major issue for the Saints in 2024 partly due to injuries. Derek Carr and Spencer Rattler both regularly dealt with interior pressure. Hernandez would, at the least, be an experienced option with starting upside for the Saints in 2025.

Asante Samuel Jr., Cornerback

Samuel Jr. has experience in Brandon Staley's defense. Ne wOrleans still  needs more cornerback help, even following the return of Isaac Yiadom as a veteran piece to the CB room.

The aforementioned son of Asante Samuel Sr. struggled last season for Los Angeles, but he has put some good play in the NFL on tape previously in his career. He's still just 25 years old as well.

Kyzir White, Linebacker

Just like Samuel Jr., White spent time with the Chargers previously. He played a whopping 1,015 snaps last year for Arizona, so he has plenty of time in the lineup for both defense and special teams.

In New Orleans, they have their starting inside LBs in Demario Davis and Pete Werner, the latter who can come off the edge some, too. White would slot in as a proven, depth piece at the position for the Saints. Makes plenty of sense at the right price.
