The NFC South continue to make moves. The latest major move was by the Carolina Panthers. they are signing free agent wide receiver Adam Thielen to a three-year deal.
It is a smart move for a team that needs more wide receiver talent, especially in the veteran category.
The comical part of it for Saints fans were the comments made by Thielen after signing with Carolina.
The wideout said that he signed with the Panthers because he believes that they can win a Super Bowl.
Of course, it is the right thing to say if you're Thielen.
He needs to show support for his new organization, and he sounds excited to be there. That being said, the Panthers roster isn't close to a Super Bowl right now.
They simply aren't serious contenders for this year and probably next, either.
Carolina is on the right track after assembling an impressive staff, but the roster isn't ready to contend. They'll need to hit on their quarterback selection at the top of this year's NFL Draft, especially.
Regardless, it'll be interesting to see what Thielen gives the Panthers on offense. His recent comments will make Saints fans chuckle, though.
