The New Orleans Saints are gearing up to have what could be a whirlwind of an offseason, especially because of how much money they are under the cap, moves will have to be made.
It's obvious what their biggest need is this offseason. If they don't get a quarterback, you can almost bet they will be right back in the same situation next season, only possibly worse, going after a quarterback in the 2024 NFL Draft.
The Saints could very well do one or the other, but most people seem to feel that this year will be the year they go after one guy in particular.
Derek Carr seems to be the guy that could potentially go to the Saints, especially after being released, not because he was bad, but because of contract situations.
He has already met with the Saints prior to becoming a free agent, and one Saints player is already making his pitch for Carr to join the team.
"I know I said adios to social media but @derekcarrqb I know it may be too soon but it’s also Valentine’s Day are you trynna swap out black and silver and fall in luv with BLACK & GOLD?"
Now I'm no genius or mind reader, but if I had to guess, Cameron Jordan wants Carr in New Orleans.
Maybe the pitch will work, who knows? But, I will say the color scheme change won't be that big of a change for Carr, and the uniform designs are similar.
The next few months will be interesting for sure.
