Saints, season

The New Orleans Saints won one of the crazier games you will see all year, in terms of the things that happened in the game. In Week 5 against the Seattle Seahawks, the Saints had everything, and the kitchen sink thrown at them. However, they still prevailed, and are now 2-3 on the year.

The Saints went into Week 5 with several starters on the inactive list. So, just to start there, they were already at a disadvantage coming into the game. Then, the players that did play on Sunday were starting to drop like flies, but, especially for the Saints.

At one point of the game, towards the end that is, the Saints had just three healthy receivers in the game after Chris Olave landed on his head after catching a touchdown pass.

Saints' head coach was asked about how he thought the team responded when they started facing adversity, and it is safe to say he was pleased.

"He has had a big impact on our offense," Allen said. "I would complement what the offense and our offensive staff were able to do yesterday, you know, losing Deonte [Harty], and then losing Chris [Olave], and really kind of hoping that Jarvis [Landry] was going to be able to go and just wasn't quite ready for the game. We had a lot of kind of last-minute adjustments I thought we had to make, and I thought those guys did a really good job there."

Being able to win through adversity is one of the most important traits a team can have. If you look at all of the great teams, they can all do it. The Saints definitely faced adversity and were still able to win the game because of their will to win.

New Orleans has that trait, and even if they did start the season 2-3, this is something that will be important to have later on in the season, especially if they are vying for a playoff spot, which can very well happen.

The season is still young, though, and the Saints still have things they need to fix. However, this game was a great way to show they have all of the intangibles.
