The New Orleans Saints have absolutely gotten healthier over the past two weeks. That being said, some time off cannot hurt a squad in terms of recovering from injuries and ailments.

For New Orleans' offense, there was a scary moment during their Week 11 win over the Cleveland Browns.  Star center Erik McCoy had to leave the game with an injury. This was his first game back due to a groin injury that forced him to have surgery when he suffered it in Week 3.

The Bye Week

Now, with the Saints off for Week 12, McCoy has more time to recover. According to Nick Underhill, McCoy seemed to avoid serious injury. It is another groin issue for the lineman.

Other injuries

Additionally, Lucas Patrick has missed multiple games recently due to different injuries. He was a starter on the offensive line to begin the season, so getting him back after the bye would be ideal.

Jamaal Williams has also been dealing with an injury, so he could be back sooner than later.

Jordan Mims has been filling the void as the running back behind Alvin Kamara. Not to mention, Taysom Hill's usage has seen an uptick, and the Saints have been rewarded for that increase.

On defense, Tanoh Kpassagnon has not played this season due to injury. He has been getting closer to return, but New Orleans will not rush him.

With extended time off over the next two weeks, the Saints may get him back after the bye. Regardless, he is still expected to come back at some point later in the season for the Saints.

Linebacker Pete Werner played through a hand injury in Week 1 with a cast on. The bye week comes at a great time for his return to full strength, too.
