The New Orleans Saints have been in the center of discussions regarding a trade for Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Davante Adams. His connection with Derek Carr has played a role in his interest to land in black and gold.

That being said, the New York Jets have also been a potential landing spot for Adams. He played with Aaron Rodgers for some of the most prolific seasons of his NFL career, and the two have remained close since they went their separate ways.

Both quarterbacks have a strong relationship with the star wideout, but both of their teams fell flat on their faces in Week 5.

Derek Carr, Aaron Rodgers injured, lose in Week 5

The Jets lost to the Minnesota Vikings in a game where Rodgers threw three interceptions. The offense looked out of sorts, as it has for much of this season, and New York just fired head coach Robert Saleh on Monday morning.

Rodgers looked to be shaken up multiple times throughout the game. His diagnosis is a low ankle sprain suffered against Minnesota.

Meanwhile, the Saints laid an egg on Monday Night Football against the Kansas City Chiefs and fell to 2-3. Carr made a couple of key mistakes, including a costly interception on the first drive of the game.

Late in the game, Carr took a hard hit and suffered an oblique injury. He discussed it after the game, noting that he actually first felt the injury during his drop back on that play.

Carr and Rodgers' timetable for return is currently unknown. Both teams will unveil injury reports this week that clue everyone in to their QB statuses.

As for Adams, the notion is that the Raiders would prefer to trade him sooner than later. The Raiders want a second-round pick + additional compensation for him, but there is a sense that no team will give them that for Adams right now.

Regardless, after some ailments and embarrassing performances arose in Week 5 at his preferred destinations, we will see if the wideout ends up somewhere other than New York or New Orleans.
