Seven in a row. That is the losing streak for the New Orleans Saints after their latest loss, a crushing defeat to the now 2-win Carolina Panthers. New Orleans is slated to pick in the top three during the 2025 NFL Draft right now.
After the loss in Week 9, social media was a sight to see from multiple Saints players. One defensive lineman's reactions caught the most attention.
Khalen Saunders social media rant
After the loss, the veteran defensive lineman showed plenty of emotion on Twitter/X. Saunders took some social media swings at former Saints defensive back Lonnie Johnson Jr., who was taunting the Saints about after their loss. He now plays for Carolina.
Saunders' comments did not stop there. He was clearly frustrated after the game and let it all fly. At one point, he even joked about moving to quarterback, since many fans are clamoring for more losses for New Orleans in order to get a higher draft pick to select a new QB.
Saunders did play running back in high school and has offensive experience.
He's taking a handful of snaps as an extra offensive weapon so far during his time in black and gold. We have not seen much from him that department this season, though.
Regardless, his bold statements after the loss are a tough look for head coach Dennis Allen and co. It is abundantly clear that players are losing hope for the future in New Orleans, and they are putting it out on the internet.
That's normally frowned upon in professional sports, but the frustration is simply hitting a new level as the ship continues to sink for Allen's team.
Saints must make difficult decision for the first time since 1980 after painful loss to Panthers
They have to make changes.
