The main weakness for the New Orleans Saints used to be their biggest strength. Rewind just two years ago. They had a top five rushing defense in the NFL.
Now, they sit at the bottom of the barrel when it comes to rushing defense. In Week 15, they'll have a big challenge staring their run defense in the face.
New Orleans takes on the New York Giants in Week 15. Star running back Saquon Barkley and rookie quarterback Tommy Devito have dominated on the ground in recent weeks.
The Saints have consistently given up chunk plays on the ground, and first halves have been especially tough to them when it comes to runners. Both running backs and mile quarterbacks have found a ton of success against the Saints defense.
In Week 14, the Saints gave up 204 rushing yards to the Carolina Panthers. QB Bryce Young played a key role in that with multiple first-down scampers where he found a ton of space in the defense.
The Lions ran for 142 yards against New Orleans when they beat them. Atlanta ran for 228 yards when they beat New Orleans 24-15 just a couple of weeks ago, too. Minnesota put up 125 yards on the ground in their victory against New Orleans, and QB Josh Dobbs played a key role in that game.
It is a clear trend for the Saints that they cannot allow to continue against the Giants on Sunday.
New York will have a plan, and it will most likely be to run the ball effectively and dominate time of possession. That's how they just upset the Green Bay Packers on Monday night.
For New Orleans, they need their front seven to step up. If they have another outing where they give up 200+ yards on the ground, it's hard to see them pulling out a win against a Giants team that plays cleaner football than the Panthers.

After the Week 14 win against the Carolina Panthers, he revealed that he is up to three rib fractures this season. Carr has also dealt with multiple concussions and shoulder injuries in his first campaign with New Orleans, […]
