New Orleans Saints quarterback Derek Carr was forced to leave the team's Week 13 matchup against the Detroit Lions with multiple injuries.
In a game where he was playing well, he took a vicious hit that resulted in a roughing the passer call. During the game, there broadcast said that Carr suffered a head, shoulder, and back injury.
Now, we got some clarity on his ailments from Saints head coach Dennis Allen.
Carr actually suffered a concussion and a rib injury against the Lions.
It's his second concussion in less than a month of time. He has also suffered a shoulder problem this year.
According to Allen, Winston will be the starter if Carr is forced to miss time. We could also see Jake Haener active for the first time this season. He will be the technical backup – as Taysom Hill will keep his utility role.
The injuries are another tough break for Carr. before exiting, Carr had completed fifteen passes in a row. The offense had gotten into a groove, and that ended rather quickly once Winston replaced him vs. Detroit.
