The New Orleans Saints shook up the NFL world late last week. Just a couple weeks out from he 2025 NFL Draft, news broke that quarterback Derek Carr is dealing with a shoulder issue that may force him to miss all of the 2025 season.

The future for him in New Orleans is unknown – to say the least.

Derek Carr releases new YouTube video

In an oddly-time choice, the Saints quarterback posted his first car review video on a new channel, alongside his brother, David.

It is the offseason. Players can do whatever they want whenever they like to do it. That being said, the timing of this video release and social media push is what will throw plenty of folks off around the Saints.

New Orleans started their offseason workouts on Monday, the same day that the video was posted by Carr. Needless to say, he was not involved in those workouts, following the latest update on his shoulder injury.

Quarterback Derek Carr is dealing with a shoulder injury that threatens his availability for the upcoming season, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported Friday afternoon.

Carr is weighing his options — including the possibility of surgery, per Rapoport. The Saints hold the No. 9 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, which could be impacted heavily by Carr's shoulder and decision on how to proceed.

After an offseason where Carr seemed to stick to himself quite often, this video release has certainly sparked even more unrest around the fan base.

Feels like the Carr era in New Orleans is coming to a close in a way that nearly nobody expected. Regardless, the Saints will have to pay for it, following their decision to restructure his deal and guarantee more money this year.

We will see how the Saints navigate the 2025 NFL Draft when it comes to the quarterback position.
