The New Orleans Saints really dodged a bullet on Monday afternoon when the news came back positive.

Payton Turner left Sundays game on a cart as he went down with an injury to his leg. It looked bad, like real bad, as he was constantly grimacing in pain.

The second-year defensive end has been a vital part of the Saints’ defense. It may not show up much on the stats, but he is having an impact for the defense in 2022.

Turner has one more sack this year than he did last year in just two more games played.

Luckily for the Saints, the injury was nothing to serious. According to Ian Rapoport, the X-rays came back negative on his ankle. It is said to be just a high ankle sprain, and Turner is week-to-week.

The Saints dodged a bullet for sure.
