The New Orleans Saints have a new dynamic duo on their team, and it's looking like it could be pretty good for years to come, as they have a connection that is unstoppable right now.
The Saints' 2022 draft class has shown out so far. You have Alontae Taylor who is at times locking down receivers as the cornerback. But you also have Chris Olave, the best rookie receiver in the league, along with Rashid Shaheed, another great rookie receiver.
Those two alone make a dynamic duo, which could be here for years for all we know, and the future with them two looks amazing. Shaheed and Olave could be one of the better receiver duos in a few years, and I think we are all here for it.
However, their unstoppable connection on the field goes back kind of far, not just the fact they were drafted the same year to the same team.
"No, I mean it's tons of fun," Shaheed said. "Two guys from the same city doing big things on Sunday, it's like a dream. I have known him for a long time, we have had a great relationship, and he is a great dude. It's fun to play alongside him. Two fast guys. It's hard to coach speed, so it's fun to have a guy like him across from me."
The two are going to do some amazing things during their time in New Orleans.
While Olave is eclipsing 1,000 receiving yards on the season, Shaheed only has 19 targets on the season and 300 receiving yards to go along with it.
Shaheed has just started getting more targets than he should. Before then, he was just returning kicks and punts, kind of similar to the start Tyreek Hill had in the NFL, and they remind me a lot of each other in terms of game.
Both are going to be great players and absolute steals for the Saints. Then, you add in that connection and it's even better.
