The New Orleans Saints suffered some notable losses in their Week 3 defeat. The Philadelphia Eagles beat them, and the black and gold lost at least one of their top players for a noteworthy amount of time.

Saints center Erik McCoy will miss time due to groin injury

According to Mike Garafolo, McCoy's injury is expected to keep him out 6-8 weeks. He will need surgery. It's not expected to be season-ending, though.

Saints offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak must adjust his scheme for the time being, considering McCoy was a vital piece to his puzzle.

Of course, it is a massive loss for New Orleans' offense. McCoy was one of the best offensive linemen in football after two weeks of play. Then, disaster struck against Philly. He was injured in the first quarter and ruled out afterwards.

Now, we know that his ailment is fairly serious. New Orleans will have to adjust on the fly on their interior OL. Lucas Patrick played center in McCoy's absence, with Oli Udoh sliding in at guard.

Fellow guard Cesar Ruiz has played center at times during his pro career, but he is not expected to start there in Week 4 against the Atlanta Falcons, according to Nick Underhill.

For the Saints, Patrick may step in at center once again. New Orleans could also look to the veteran free agent market to fill McCoy's void as well.

You could tell a stark difference without McCoy against the Eagles, so Kubiak must face a massive challenge entering a divisional matchup.

The offensive line lost Ryan Ramczyk before the season due to his career-threatening knee injury, too. Now, more pressure arises for Trevor Penning, Taliese Fuaga, and co.
