The New Orleans Saints are riding high after two wins in a row. They played a complete game in Week 15, defeating the New York Giants 24-6.

After the victory, Saints head coach Dennis Allen made some strong comments.

Allen told the team that the only opinions that matter are inside the locker room. He was clear in that outside comments cannot affect how the team prepare and play in these final, crucial games of the season. Some fans took it the wrong way.

Allen wasn't being disrespectful towards fans, although they have disrespected the team at times this season. The Saints HC was actually just focusing on the positives for a team that must do that in order to stay alive in the playoff race.

In actuality, it was more 'coach speak' than anything. He's pushing for the team to take an underdog role into the final games of the season in order to motivate them to prove people wrong.

The disapproval over his comments are overblown, and that may partly be because of Alontae Taylor's postgame tweet.

Reports about low Superdome ticket prices have swirled over the past few weeks. Clearly, players are tired of hearing about them and are focused on trying to stay alive for the postseason.

No matter what – Allen's comments were nothing out of the ordinary. He's an NFL coach who knows that he has plenty of pressure on him right now. He can/will use any motivation possible that he believes may work for his players.

Fans were hoping for some more good news this week in terms of injuries, but that seems unlikely for a couple of important players.  Wide receiver Michael Thomas and cornerback Marshon Lattimore have been on injured reserve since suffering their injuries. Both are eligible […]
