The New Orleans Saints and the Cincinnati Bengals are going to be facing off in Week 6 after both teams have started their 2022 season 2-3. Both teams are better than what their record would recommend, and both are looking to get to .500 on the year.
These are two very similar teams, in a few different ways. However, the biggest one is how they both have so much respect for one another.
The Bengals have the utmost respect for the Saints, and what they are doing, as well as the players and staff that are on the team, and he showed that on Wednesday, too.
"I feel like I have played them a lot going back to 2017, and you know DA [Dennis Allen] has been there the whole time," Bengals head coach Zac Taylor said. "And so, really this staff, for the most part, I think the meat of their staff has been there, and they have a lot of similar players that have been there over the years.
"Really physical defense, they are really in tune with each other, really sound, and not overly complicated… I think Cameron Jordan is one of the premier D-ends [defensive ends], he has always been, he doesn't look like he has missed a step, unfortunately. They just have a lot of playmakers, really at all three levels."
The last time these two teams played each other was in 2018 when the Saints hung 51 points on the Bengals' heads while holding them to just 14 points. However, these are both two very different teams in 2022.
The Bengals had Andy Dalton then, the Saints' current backup quarterback, and now have Joe Burrow, who is a future MVP. The Saints had Drew Brees then, and now have Jameis Winston and Andy Dalton, who could both play on Sunday.
It's great to hear another team talk about Cameron Jordan, who is one of the better defensive ends of this era. Hopefully on Sunday Taylor will see Jordan bringing down Burrow, something that happens often.
