The New Orleans Saints have been preparing for the Kansas City Chiefs over the past week. They need a win to improve to 3-2 on the season.
This weekend, the NFL handed down their weekly fines around the league. Two Saints were involved from the Saints-Atlanta Falcons Week 4 matchup. The NFL isn't letting anything slide, clearly.
NFL fines Marshon Lattimore
According to John Hendrix, Lattimore was fined $16,883 for an unsportsmanlike conduct (violent gesture) during the first quarter against Atlanta.
This one is intriguing because Lattimore seemingly did not do anything wrong at the time of this particular timestamp.
Paulson Adebo did a celebration after his interception at this time of the game. He did a "throat slash" gesture that the league may not have preferred. It's fair to wonder if they actually fined the wrong Saints player here.
NFL fines Alontae Taylor
Taylor was also fined due to a "violent gesture" on an unsportsmanlike conduct against the Falcons. It came when he broke up a pass in the end zone.
Taylor's fine comes because he seemingly did a double thumbs down after causing an incompletion? This is all I could see from the film.
Taylor could have done more off camera, but the picture below is seemingly the extent of his actions after the play, leading to this choice by the NFL.

Two of the top Saints defenders had some money taken out of their pocket this past weekend. I wouldn't expect those decisions from the league to change the celebrations of many players of theirs, though.
They simply play with too much energy, and New Orleans needs that sort of drive if they want to beat Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs on Monday night.
Tyrann Mathieu sends strong social media statements that both Saints and Chiefs fans will appreciate
He’s ready to prove himself again.
