The New Orleans Saints have made the move that nearly every Saints fan was waiting for after the team's lowly loss to the Carolina Panthers in Week 9. The loss basically ended any sort of hopes for the playoffs this season, extending the team's losing streak to seven games.

Saints fire Dennis Allen

New Orlean is moving on from Allen before he completes his third year as head coach. During his tenure with the Saints, Allen posted an 18-25 record and never saw the postseason.

Saints assistant head coach and special teams coordinator Darren Rizzi is expected to be the new interim coach, according to Ian Rapoport.

The Saints have a veteran roster who never truly meshed during Allen's tenure. As turmoil and distrust reached a new high, New Orleans truly only had one choice: make a move at head coach.

Allen went 18-25 as the head coach in New Orleans. Consistent plagues hit the Saints during his time as the man in charge.

Penalties, costly mental errors, and questionable in-game decisions from the staff all became a trend for the Saints over the last two seasons, especially. Overall, it was a plan that just never came to fruition after the franchise agreed to part ways with Sean Payton.
