The New Orleans Saints are riding as high as you can at 3-7 after their latest rivalry win over the Atlanta Falcons in Week 10. They ended a seven game losing skid by beating the first-place Falcons.
What did the win do to the team's draft outlook in 2025, though?
Saints' 2025 first round pick
Before Week 10's Monday Night Football game, the Saints are picking ninth overall in the 2025 NFL Draft. Before their Week 10 win over the Falcons, the Saints were picking third overall in the 2025 NFL Draft.
Accordingly, the victory dropped them six spots, pending the Miami Dolphins and Los Angeles Rams game on MNF. The Dolphins are currently picking sixth, so they could move some based on the outcome.
What positions could the Saints target early in round one? That will depend on some decisions they make during the offseason, prior to the draft. There are a handful that stand out as of now, though.
- Quarterback
- Offensive tackle
- Edge rusher
- Wide receiver
Decisions, decisions
Derek Carr's future in New Orleans will be a major storyline in the offseason. Dennis Allen is no longer the head coach, so a trade could be on the table if Carr allows it with his no trade clause.
Trevor Penning has shown improvement at tackle, but a top ten pick may push them to replace him with a player that has a higher floor.
The Saints' pass rush has been one of the worst in the NFC this season, and they are aging off the edge. Chase Young is not under contract after this season, either.
At wideout, Chris Olave's playing future remains unknown due to multiple concussions. Hopefully, he is able to safely resume playing to finish this season or begin next season in New Orleans.
They extended Rashid Shaheed earlier this year, but they could use another big-body target in the passing game.
