The New Orleans Saints have a receipt list on their hands when it comes to a list of injuries entering Week 4. Many key players are banged up or dealing with ailments.
Wednesday practice's injury report saw many notable names become question marks for this week's game against the Atlanta Falcons.
Taysom Hill practices to start the week
The Saints' key utility weapon practiced on Wednesday. Khalen Saunders, who has not played yet this season, did as well. He expects to return this weekend – it seems.
As for Hill, New Orleans missed his versatility dearly in their loss to Philly. Hopefully, he can be back for them against Atlanta, who he has had success against earlier in his career. Saints HC Dennis Allen says he anticipates Hill to play against Atlanta.
Demario Davis, Alvin Kamara, others do not practice on Wednesday
Davis and Kamara headline a group that did not participate on Wednesday. Alontae Taylor, Cesar Ruiz, and Erik McCoy also did not practice. McCoy underwent surgery for his groin injury on Wednesday.
Kamara is dealing with rib and hip injuries. He's clearly quite banged up. Ruiz has a knee injury, according to John Hendrix.
Alontae Taylor is dealing with an illness, according to Allen. That's a positive in the lack of a physical issue that could be long-term for the Saints defensive back.
Dennis Allen speaks to the media about offensive line injuries
New Orleans could be without two important OL starters in Week 4 in Ruiz and McCoy.
McCoy is expected to be out 6-8 weeks, while Ruiz's injury outlook is unknown. Lucas Patrick filled in for McCoy at center in Week 3 when the veteran had to leave the game in the first quarter.
