Saints HC Dennis Allen was certainly frustrated in his postgame press conference after their 26-9 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
The Saints were outworked and outplayed in every face to the football game, and Allen knew that. Allen made a handful of strong comments regarding the disappointing performance from his team in an NFC South rivalry game.
“We got our ass beat today. Unacceptable.”
Allen was upfront about his team's play in a very important divisional game. He was right, too.
The offense was horrific. The defense played a soft game. The coaching was questionable in every sense of the word.
When asked about potential coaching changes, Allen didn't write off the possibility. He also couldn't immediately guarantee those decisions, either. If they are 'looking at everything' as Allen said, changes should be made, especially on offense.
It's clear that he is trying to figure out the bumps and bruises, but Allen hasn't done that yet. The NFC South was wide open entering the season, and New Orleans looked to be a favorite.
So far, they have not played that way, and Allen's staff has to get it back on track if they want to see next year in New Orleans.
We'll see if Allen and the front office make any major changes when it comes to play-calling or strategy going forward. The struggles cannot continue.
