There were a lot of good takeaways from the New Orleans Saints' Week 1 victory. The offense found a groove at times, and the defense was immaculate. Special teams play was great, too.
Every phase had bright spots, but Saints HC Dennis Allen isn't quite 'satisfied' yet. The Saints are back to work this week to iron out some of their wrinkles seen in their season opener.
In particular, Allen mentioned the defense against a couple of screen passes, the overall run defense in the first half, and a couple of mistakes in the secondary that the team got away with on Sunday.
He didn't mention the offense too much – probably because he isn't in the driver's seat quite as much there. It is clear that he has high expectations for his defense. The defensive staff is quite different, littered with his choices, so it isn't surprising that he wants them to impress.
The Saints will face their first rookie quarterback in Week 2. It'll be Carolina Panthers QB Bryce Young.
Expect plenty of aggression from Allen against the division rival.
