New Orleans Saints head coach Dennis Allen did not mince words after the team's Week 6 loss. The Saints fell to the Houston Texans by a score of 20-13, but the game was even more deflating than the score would ever tell you.

The Saints defense struggled in the first half, allowing 17 points. In the second half, they clamped up, but the offense and kicker Blake Grupe could not put points on the board. Allen was stark and direct with his comments following the game.

If Allen is staying true to his word, he, himself, needs to step up, too. The defense has lacked intensity at times this season, and his coaching staff was hand chosen by himself.

Not to mention, everyone should be held accountable, including OC Pete Carmichael Jr. There's been clear frustration with him from fans, and players have seemingly pointed to a lack of creativity in past weeks.

This week, players seemed to take a lot more of the blame for the loss. Michael Thomas felt that it wasn't on the coaches at all. He thinks that the players need to play to their potential.

Regardless, for Allen, time is running out. The team may be 3-3, but their three wins have come against some of the worst teams in the NFL. On the flip-side, their losses have all been winnable games.

You could make a strong argument that the Saints should be 4-2, or even 5-1, right now if they executed in a better manner.

Allen can keep referencing 'doing jobs better' or potential changes, but if he doesn't make them, the words are pointless. The heat is turning up, and Allen has never dealt with that well as an NFL head coach. We will see what happens in coming weeks.
