The New Orleans Saints legitimately gained nothing positive during their latest loss in primetime. On Monday Night Football in Week 16, they got slaughtered by the Green Bay Packers, 34-0.

The offense could barely cross midfield. The defense missed tons of tackles, even on backup running backs. Darren Rizzi made a rough mistake just before halftime. The Saints did not move up in the 2025 NFL Draft order.

Simply put, they made a fool of themselves in front of everyone watching as the lone NFL game left to conclude the week's action. Not to mention, they accomplished a feat that no team in the league wanted to this season.

First shutout of the NFL season

The Saints' shutout loss was the first of the entire season. Teams have played fifteen games, each. It's been four months of action on the gridiron.

New Orleans is currently the only team so far this season to not score a single point in an entire matchup. Just, plain embarrassing on every front from top to bottom for the Saints.

According to Benjamin Solak, there has not been a season without a shutout in NFL history. That statistic will stay alive after this debacle from New Orleans.

The Saints consistently put up stinkers in primetime this year. They were outscored by seventy points in those games, according to Rod Walker. That's extremely ugly for the black and gold.

As for New Orleans looking ahead, they were eliminated from playoff contention before they even faced Green Bay. They're just playing for vibes and respect at this point, and neither of those leaned to the positive side in Week 16.

The Saints will look to bounce back in Week 17 against the Las Vegas Raiders. For many fans, this season cannot end soon enough in New Orleans or Vegas.
