The addition of Jamaal Williams to the New Orleans Saints is quite exciting for fans. He is another weapon in an offense that got a new quarterback that is a clear improvement from last year.
Not to mention, they have plenty of talent at wide receiver and an elite running back in Alvin Kamara. Kamara is a benefactor of the Williams add in multiple ways.
Firstly, Williams will be the best backup that Kamara has ever had when it comes to pass-catching.
That'll give them a dual threat in their backfield if they line up both Williams and Kamara back there. Williams can give the star RB a breather on passing downs at times, too.
The former Lions and Packers RB didn't catch a ton of passes last year, but he has proven that he can in the past.
He had just 16 targets in 17 games last season in Detroit.
This advanced stat of the week is powered by Boston Scientific!
It was the most notable part of his time in Green Bay prior to that, though.
In six seasons, he's totaled 1191 receiving yards and 8 receiving touchdowns. The Lions didn't use that part of his game as often, but it's surely still there.
The Saints need to key into it to get the most out of Kamara and Williams.
