The controversy surrounding the New Orleans Saints has reached the masses. Their late touchdown out of victory formation, decided upon by Jameis Winston and his teammates, is pulling plenty of opinions in the national media.

NFL Hall-of-Fame tight end Shannon Sharpe shared his point of view on the decision by Winston to lead the pack to run a play that was not called by the coaching staff.

Sharpe believes that Winston should lose his job for the decision. Check out his reaction below.

“I would cut Jameis Winston today. I would not want him on my team. That’s loser’s mentality.” — Sharpe

I'm not sure how wanting to get your teammate his first touchdown of the season his first touchdown is a 'loser mentality.' Plus, the entire offense felt strongly about giving Jamaal Williams a positive moment to end his year.

Williams had not scored all season, but he was a leader in the locker room in his first season in New Orleans. Players love having him around, and he worked hard to battle through injuries.

Sharpe is giving an aggressive take that does not make much sense. It's fair to say that Dennis Allen and the staff can disagree with Winston's decision and discuss it internally. Makes sense. Reasonable.

It is unfair to say that an emotionally charged choice (a positive one, too) should result in one of the most beloved players in the building becoming jobless. Too far.

Sharpe doubled down on his choice words, too.

Sharpe is wrong about this one, and his teammates' reactions postgame in the locker room and on social media proved that as well. They support him and the offense's call.
