Graham has his pilot license. He got that in 2011. He went viral during last offseason for flying a helicopter. Graham loves it, and adventuring has grown to be a massive piece of his life.
Now, Graham will try to accomplish his biggest task yet. He will be participating in the Arctic Challenge.
What is the Arctic Challenge? This is how the mission is described on their website.
Undertaking the challenge of a lifetime, the team will row 1000 Kilometer across the unforgiving Arctic Ocean. In a 9.6 Meter man-powered boat, they will face polar storms, brutal temperatures, and wildlife encounters, all while pushing the limits of human endurance.
As you can see, it is no small feat. In reality, it is a grueling, arduous trip that will push the rowers to their limits. Graham will be a part of that group, joined by Navy SEAL Andrew Tropp, former member of Team USA's rowing team and a New Orleans native Hannah Huppi, and former rower for Team USA and Team Switzerland John Huppi.
The best part is definitely the why for the challenge. The Challenge has partnered with three charities that they will be supporting during the row: Covenant House, the Jimmy Graham Foundation, and Laureus Sport for Good USA, according to the Saints team website.
The group of four will put their bodies on the line to support three awesome causes. Remarkable.
Graham continues to put together a unique, ambitious life that Saints, and the entire NFL world, should appreciate.
