Saints TE Juwan Johnson suffered a serious lower leg injury
Nick Underhill was the first on the Johnson report. He notes that Johnson will miss "a good amount of time."
Adam Schefter announced that Johnson will undergo foot surgery next week.
As he noted, the Saints hope that he will return by the start of the season. While this is a setback for their offense, the timing is a plus. If his recovery goes well, he will be ready by Week 1. The Saints are a better offense when they have more depth at tight end. Johnson has been their starter over the past couple of seasons and flashed impressive traits.

- Taysom Hill (UTILITY)
- Dallin Holker

- Tommy Hudson
The Saints also worked out UFL star TE Sal Cannella on Thursday. With the news of Johnson, they may be more inclined to add him as more competition for snaps.
We will see if New Orleans add at least one more TE before training camp.
