The New Orleans Saints have a lot of good young talent on their team. The problem is that good young talent doesn't always translate to winning, as we can clearly see.

In terms of developing that talent though, the Saints are very good in that area. One player as proof of that statement can be linebacker Kaden Ellis, who is getting better it feels like each game.

We are seeing it, so we know what he is getting better at, but it's the mental side of things we don't necessarily know about. Is he seeing the game better? Is he catching on quicker? Just things of that nature.

"Each game you feel like you get a little better at recognition," Kaden Elliss said on Tuesday. "Just being able to kind of see how things unfold. You know, maybe that first game I was pretty locked in on my initial key. But now, I don't know, it kind of feels like each game you're able to start seeing a little more.

"Your scope kind of expands, whether it be offensive lineman feet, or stances, different formations, just more than what you are supposed to be staying on every play. You kind of get a couple of tips, DA (Dennis Allen) always says, when the offense breaks formation, they are telling you a story and you are reading the book, so I think your ability to read that book, the more snaps you get that are live, it allows you to read a little better."

Elliss started one game in his three seasons before this one. This year he has started seven games and has been nothing short of spectacular.

The New Orleans Saints are showing that they know how to develop talent, and Elliss is proof. Look at his three seasons prior, and where he is now. It was slow progress, and we didn't see it right away, but we are definitely seeing it now.

Elliss has 4.5 sacks on the year, and we saw just one prior to this season from him. Not to mention the few times this year he led the team in tackles in a game.

Elliss is looking to be a part of what could be a bright future for the linebacker room. And, just think about this, he is still learning and getting better every game, and will only continue to do so.
